John 6:25-27 (Wrong Motivations)

I totally agree with Bill Cosby!

THE RIVER WALK

Things That matter

They found him on the other side of the lake and asked, “Rabbi, when did you get here?” Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you understood the miraculous signs. But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For God the Father has given me the seal of his approval.” (John 6:25-27)

Victoria Olsteen says, “I just want to encourage every one of us to realize, when we obey God, we’re not doing it for God. I mean, that’s one way to look at it. We’re doing it for ourselves because God takes pleasure when we’re happy. That’s the thing that gives Him the greatest joy this morning. So I…

  1. Joel and Victoria Osteen are people I would stay far, far away from. They do huge amounts of damage in their mislead “ministry”. They are much more a part of the New Age mantra then they are a part of the Christian Church.

This commentary by Victoria is ludicrous. The very foundation of our faith is Jesus and the worship of Him. We do this not for us but for Him who gave us all. Amazing how many people cannot understand the simplicity of how things work.

Worship of God comes before anything else, before evangelism, before Sunday school, before even preaching the Word. All other things in the Church flow from worship of our Lord.

  2. It’s hard to understand why she said this the way she did. Maybe she was having a bonde moment? Sorry couldn’t resist. Not having listened to the whole thing, it’s hard to comment sensibly. I think it is unfair to have posted this without it’s entirety. Granted it does not sound like one of her finest moments. How often have you said something that didn’t quite come out right? I know I have. I don’t know about you, but I have found that most, but – NOT ALL women get a little over the top, and I personally don’t like listening to them! with the exception of Joyce Meyer, Aquilla Nash and some other well know women. All I know is that Joel’s ministry has had a number of knockers. I have listened to many sermons by him, and I can say that I have not found him to be unbalanced, when you listen to the whole thing. You have to understand that he is encouraging people to know God loves them, and he ALWAYS offers an invitation for salvation at the end of his messages. Actually I have a little question for you, what have you done lately for the Lord lately to lead the lost from going into the pit of hell? Little splinter?
