JUST RELEASED

Candice is a fourteen year old girl who lives with her two parents. Her mother works two jobs to support the family and her father is a drunk that spends his meager salary on alcohol and cigarettes.

While dust mopping her parents bedroom floor, she shoves the dust mop under the bed to clear the dust bunnies. She suddenly hits something, and lying down on the floor, she sees a suitcase shoved against the wall.

Curiosity has gotten the best of her, and she pulls the suitcase out. Before she can open it, her father comes home, and she quickly shoves it back under the bed and races to her room.

After several attempts to discover what is in the hidden suitcase she finally sneaks it out from under the bed. Slowly opening it and throwing back the lid, she throws her hands over her mouth. In total shock, she slams the lid shut and shoves it back under the bed, and then quickly stumbles to her room.

Unbeknownst to her or her mother, her father is living a secret life, and Candice has found out, but can she tell her mother? She has no idea how her discovery will impact her young life and fill it with guilt, fear, and shame.

  1. You probably do not need to hear this from me, Sue. But do not be discouraged, if sales of your fine book are slow. The truth is being lost today. The Bible told us there would come a time when people would no longer tolerate sound doctrine (2 Tim. 4: 3-4). However, the God who inspired you to write the book will use it in ways you cannot imagine. Words live on after we are gone. ❤

  2. I’m finding two disappointing things through the book signing events, “I don’t bother/have time for reading,” and “I only listen to the audio books.” But yet there are those who enjoy reading and buy one or more of my books. It all pans out in the end because I never went into writing them for the money anyway. Thank you for your kind words, Anne. The ones I donate to the prison ministry in Fla. – each book is read by 30 people and I have sent them over 800 books! It isn’t a lost cause, that’s for sure.

    Thanks again for the encouragement.
