John Hopkins University’s Study Concludes People Are Not Born Gay

CULTURE

June is the official month for the LGBTQ community, which is affectionally called “Pride Month.”

This past Monday, officials at one of the most respected universities in the country, John Hopkins University, released a report that argues how there is no sufficient evidence suggesting gay, lesbian, or transgender people are born this way (sexual orientation or gender identity).

Many Americans believe people are “born gay” and that there is an organic basis for homosexuality, while most believe the other choice, which is individuals choose that type of lifestyle over a period of time.

Americans have been “forced” to accept the homosexual lifestyle with bullying tactics by the media and Democratic Party. Instead of people living their lives the way they want, there are those who feel this subject has been shoved down their throats and if you disagree publicly, you are targeted, and most are taken to court to force adherence.

The idea there that sexual orientation is fluid, that people change as people grow,” Lawrence Mayer, a co-author of the report and a scholar-in-residence at Johns Hopkins University’s psychiatry department, as well as a professor of statistics and biostatistics at Arizona State University, told The Christian Post. “There are probably some people that identify as hetrosexual [sic] that then later on identified as homosexual, so it goes both ways. The importance there is the fluidity and flexibility that these things change in time.

The three-part, 143-page report, which appeared in the Fall 2016 edition of The New Atlantis, also investigated other commonly accepted ideas about homosexuality and transgenderism. Mayer and his co-author Paul McHugh, a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Johns Hopkins, challenged the claim that discrimination and social stigma are the only reasons why homosexual and transgender people suffer higher rates of mental health problems and are more likely to commit suicide.

Studies of the brains of homosexuals and heterosexuals have found some differences, but have not demonstrated that these differences are inborn rather than the result of environmental factors that influenced both psychological and neurobiological traits,” the report explained. “One environmental factor that appears to be correlated with non-heterosexuality is child sexual abuse victimization, which may also contribute to the higher rates.” [PJ Media]

Well, there is a reason why John Hopkins, the first hospital in the US to perform sex reassignment surgery, stopped performing the surgery after ten years. They did follow-ups on their patients and found that the majority suffered from extreme depression, high rates of alcohol and drug abuse, and had much higher rates of suicide. They rightly concluded that the surgery did more harm than good.

Progressives care about winning and imposing their ideological vision on others rather than about the conceptual coherence or consistency of that ideological vision.

Consequently, progressive ideology is stitched together from a motley of incompatible, even contradictory, premises. To wit, LGBTQ’s are “born that way,” except that everything is a “social construct,” and there is no such thing as “natural determination” or “human nature.” Along the same lines, LGBTQ’s must be true to their “essential identity” and to “who they really are,” but “essence” is a myth, and all identities are “fluid” and subject to endless re-fashioning.

Such examples could, of course, be multiplied almost indefinitely: Women have universal and inviolable rights, but “universality” is a mask to conceal what is at bottom “Western hegemony.” Patriarchal oppression must be opposed, but Islamic subjection of women must be celebrated in the name of “multiculturalism.” On and on it goes.

In short, whatever evidence biological research may uncover the nature of human sexuality will not affect whatsoever on progressive opinion, unless such evidence happens to comport with the progressive meme-of-the-day.

The bottom line here is that Americans don’t care what you do in your bedroom. That’s your place of privacy, and it’s nobody’s business. Most Americans do not like to be preached to over accepting rules of how to live by, let alone being forced to take something that most feel they can’t support.

Shoot That Donkey!

The support groups were going so well that we had to form another group. The Lord was really pouring out His healing and women were being set free. The Angels by Grace magazine was gaining more and more popularity and one day I received a request from a woman prisoner to come visit her. I did!

Now I had never been to a county jail, as an inmate or a visitor, and I wasn’t feeling too secure about this visit. When I prayed the Lord said He would be with me so that made all the difference in the world.

When I got there I was guided to a small cubby hole like deal with a chair on my side and a glass between her and I. Thank you Lord for glass! We chatted for a minute and then she told me the Angels by Grace was being read in a group of women and some of the women had accepted Christ as their Savior, including her. I was flabbergasted and got all teary eyed. It still blows me away how the Lord will use us in ways we never dreamed of!

I need to digress here for a minute.

I was 54 years old when I asked the Lord to be my Savior. Up to that point nobody could mention God to me. I would chew them up and spit them out without a moments notice. I wanted absolutely nothing to do with a God that would allow the things that I survived to happen. I must have been very much like Balaam in the Bible. He was an angry man and he was sinful! I wasn’t any angel either and I held a lot of anger inside. Had I been walking along with a donkey heading to get in trouble and that donkey suddenly stopped and started talking to me, I would have been looking under bushes and around trees to find the ventriloquist and having not found anyone shot the donkey! Nobody talked to me about God, not even a donkey without feeling my wrath! (You can read about it in Numbers 22:22-40)

I have since learned that the Lord and His Holy Spirit does not give up on us. He accepts us right where we are but He will not leave us in our disgusting, evil state. And yes, when we are in the world without Him we are evil and disgusting. Enemies of God. I was no different and looky, looky, what the Lord has done! Praise, honor, and glory all goes to Him because I was not an easy case, if you want to know the truth.

Back to writing……….

I’ll meet you here next time.
