23 Random Questions

I saw this on Linda Lee/@LadyQuixote blog,  https://ablogabouthealingfromptsd.wordpress.com/ ,who got it from someone else who got it from someone else and I thought it would be fun so I decided to post it here so you could enjoy it, too.

These are “23 random facts about yourself that may surprise your friends.” I had fun reading Linda Lees answers. I hope you won’t be too bored reading mine. Some may actually surprise you.

Here are my answers to the 23 questions:

1. Do you make your bed every morning?
Only if I’m not intending to crawl back in it and I’m not always able to make a quick decision about that, so it may not get made at all. In other words, sometimes and sometimes, not.

2. What was your first car?
My first car was a snappy little M.G. convertible when I started college. I lived in Arizona so that top stayed down most of the time unless caught in a sudden rain, which seldom happened. Dust storms were the ones that brought the top up in a real hurry! I loved my little M.G. and the cops loved watching me zoom around town.

3. What two grocery items do you never run out of?
Potato chips and Dr. Pepper. I’m not the healthiest eater but I figure we’re all going to die of something.

4. At what age did you start doing your laundry?
Maybe 15, probably 16.

5. If you could, would you go back to high school?
No! I had to work for my school supplies, I wasn’t allowed to date, go to a prom, or anything because I was “his property.” Those years were very painful due to abuse.

6. Can you parallel park in under three moves?
I haven’t done that in years and since there’s really no need to now, I don’t know.

7. A job you had which people would be shocked to know you once had?
The youngest sales clerk in J.C. Penny’s and was promoted to department head at a ripe old age of 16. I was also a “soda jerk” in an ice cream parlor. No wonder I love ice cream!

8. Do you think aliens are real?
No, not until I walk down the street and see guys underwear before I see jeans down around their ankles.

9. Can you drive a stick shift?
Yes. I learned to drive in a car with a stick shift and had fun driving one a few years ago and was pleased I didn’t strip the gears when I changed gears.

10. Guilty TV pleasure?
I love to see people being happy and having fun so almost every morning I watch “Let’s Make a deal.” The only other programs I faithfully watch is “Blue Bloods.” Having been married to two law enforcement officers (not at the same time) is it any wonder I like some of the cop shows?

11. Tattoos?
No. I’ve never had the desire to have a tattoo. I figured if God wanted designs on my body He would have put them there.

12. If the world ends do you want to be one of survivors?
If it ends I am a survivor, Just not on this earth.

13. Sweet or salty?
My sweet tooth has faded over the years even though I do keep a little chocolate around just in case it kicks in. Salty, no, other than on chips.

14. Do you enjoy soaking in a nice hot bath?
Ohhhh most definitely! Every time I step into my “whirly” (jet tub) I tell the Lord thank you and I sure hope He has whirly’s in heaven.

15. Do you consider yourself a strong person?
Yes, Only by God’s grace. With years of abuse I would not have survived.

16. Something people do that drives you nuts?
Addiction to cell phones, be it in the car, restaurants, walking down the street, interrupting a conversation to answer it. The same with texting. I don’t even use a cell phone unless in an emergency. I’ve gotten where I almost hate them. My other one is women with kids in the car and paying more attention to the kids than to driving! They’re all over the road, fast one minute, slow the next. Screaming at kids or looking at their pictures or whatever it is that they’re doing besides watching the road. I want to scream!

17. Do you have any birthmarks?
Let me go look again. I don’t think so. I haven’t found any so far.

18. Favorite childhood game?
Hiding, (that wasn’t a game. It was part of my survival), building “forts” out of sticks, and playing in the woods. I grew up in the country.

19. Do you talk to yourself?
Yes, and I answer, too. There’s only one intelligent person living in  the house – me! (I live alone)

20. Do you like doing jigsaw puzzles?
I used to years ago but not anymore.

21. Tea or coffee?
I drink quite a bit of Decaf Green tea during cold weather and seldom drink coffee. If I do its decaf.

22. First thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up?
At first I wanted to be a beautician, then an airline “stewardess”, then a P.E. teacher. I never became an official hair dresser but I have cut hair, I substitute taught middle school and high school as a side job while flying the friendly skies as my career. I’m now retired from the friendly skies and write Christian books. I just started my 9th.

23. Favorite game now?
I have several computer games I bounce around to. “Bubble Shooting” is my favorite for the moment. It helps release tension.   But that could change if I get bored with it.
