Speech/physical therapy continue along with cognitive and other necessary tests. He is able to feed himself small bites of food using his one good hand with help. The Therapists are currently working with him to a sitting position on the edge of the bed for a short time. It’s a slow process and will take time. Currently we are checking costs of flights/schedules to return home with a companion that will need to travel with him. Thank you all for your continuing donations in my sons’ needed care and return flight back home. They will go far in his ongoing medical care and costly transportation back home, hopefully soon.
Life is so short and from one day, one moment in time, we never know what can happen. My nephew, Randy, went to Cambodia to teach the people English. He rented an apartment and was doing what he thought will help the people…
and then it happened.
In a split moment in time he had a massive stroke. He cannot speak, he lies paralyzed in a Cambodian hospital bed and praise be to God the feeding tube has now been removed and he is able to be fed a small amount of yogurt and very soft food due to constrictions in his throat. He can do nothing else for himself.
My sister, Judy, is a basket case in trying to deal with the expenses of his care. Randy does not have medical insurance which leaves all of his care expenses to his family. If there is no family then he is on his own and there’s no telling what happens then. She lives on the meager Social Security check each month, and some of us know how that is. The senator she spoke to fluffed her off, the Embassy has assigned one lady that is trying to help, and family and a few friends have helped financially as much as they can, but the resources have dwindled. What money they have has gone to pay for his care while they pray to be able to get him back home here to the USA. where he can get the extended care he needs.
We have been told that he when he is able he will need a nurse to accompany him on the flight home and that is very expensive – to the tune of $10,000 – $30,000! ALL money will go to his flight home and whatever bills are left to be paid.
We are asking that you pray for Randy’s healing and guidance, comfort and peace for Judy. The Lord said He takes care of His children and we believe that, but He uses you and I to help.
Please pray for my sister and nephew, and if the Lord lays it on your heart to donate, even a small amount will help, we are truly thankful for your generosity and prayers.
Let’s bring Randy home so he can get the extended care he needs and be with family, not stranded in a foreign country with people he hardly knows.

If I was born in our society today I know I would have been “affirmed” by my teachers and started on a cascade of interventions that would have left me infertile, mutilated and without the husband and two beautiful children that I have today. The state of Oklahoma is now requiring schools to teach the Bible, including the Ten Commandments, in grades five through 12.
Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters made the announcement in a memo to all school districts on Thursday, NBC News reported.
“This directive is in alignment with the educational standards approved on about May 2019, with which all districts must comply,” the document read:
The Bible is one of the most historically significant books and a cornerstone of Western civilization, along with the Ten Commandments. They will be referenced as an appropriate study of history, civilization, ethics, comparative religion, or the like, as well as for their substantial influence on our nation’s founders and the foundational principles of our Constitution. This is not merely an educational directive but a crucial step in ensuring our students grasp the core values and historical context of our country.
Additionally, the State Department of Education may supply teaching materials for the Bible, as permissible, to ensure uniformity in delivery.
In a video posted Thursday, Walters said the Bible is connected to many of the nation’s historical events. He also referenced the fact that Martin Luther King, Jr. “used it as a tremendous impetus for the Civil Rights movement”:
In December, a West Virginia high school began integrating a Bible study program after a Christian student spoke to the principal about the idea, Breitbart News reported.
The Bible study was optional for students and guest speakers were required to fill out a volunteer form in order to speak during the morning meetings.
More recently, a bill signed into law requires a poster-sized copy of the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every public school classroom in Louisiana, Breitbart News reported June 19.
“Louisiana is the first state to successfully pass legislation requiring the display of the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms, including state-funded universities, since the Supreme Court voted 5-4 to banish the tenets from America’s classrooms in 1980,” the outlet said.
“Efforts to restore the commandments to public schools are active in other states, including Texas, Oklahoma, and Utah, although none so far have been successful,” it concluded.

It all began at a Christmas party in 1990. A merry group of seniors at the Minneapolis School of Anesthesia were already looking forward to their graduation the next year. While singing Neil Sedaka’s classic doo-wop hit “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do,” one of the students had an inspired idea! This budding anesthesiologist realized the song could be parodied as “Waking Up Is Hard To Do” and their first hit was born.
The Mayo Clinic, a prestigious Minneapolis hospital, defines a laryngospasm as “a brief spasm of the vocal cords that temporarily makes it difficult to speak or breathe.” The singing doctors figured it would be the perfect name for their band.
They’ve even released albums under the Spasm Records label: “The Laryngospasms With The Stylettes” in 1994 and “Paradise” in 2002. Over the years, fifteen different doctors have been part of the group at various times, all of them certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs).
In “Waking Up Is Hard To Do,” The Laryngospasms poke fun at their own medical work, including mishaps and even malpractice suits: “If I wake I’m going to sue because waking up is so hard to do.”
The Laryngospasms are still at it today. The musical medical parody group is now made up of four CRNAs. They know of what they sing, that’s for sure! In addition to recording their hilarious songs and sharing them on the internet, the Laryngospasms also perform live at medical conferences and charity events throughout the United States and Canada.
