“There is no God!”

I hear the cry of the saints as they pray and in the background I hear the roar of those who do not believe. They scream in my face, “There is no God you fool!”

Sitting on my back deck this morning looking out over my one acre back yard I hear the whistle of a bird happily communicating with his friends. The soft tingle of wind chimes mingles with a variety of bird calls. The tree leaves rustle in a breeze that brushes my cheeks.  The grass is wet with the morning dew. A tear-shaped drop of water hangs precariously off the pink pedal of a rose as the sky clears from an evening of rain. The serenity is calming, soothing, tranquil.

The whirl of tiny hummingbird wings catches my attention as it shoots past me heading for the hummingbird feeder hanging close by. It sits so delicately on the small red perch. It’s body so tiny it must weigh less than an ounce. Pressing its long narrow beak into the sweet nectar it drinks greedily. Having its fill it flits away only to return a few minutes later to once again savor another sip.

The sunrise was gorgeous. A sky filled with the golden light that only The One can create. Whispy clouds are moved aside as the sun begins to crest the horizon and shines brighter and brighter bringing in a new day. The moon has faded into the glorious dawn.

The bright red of a cardinal brightens one small edge of the bird feeder I have hanging on a shepherds hook. Its quick, sharp chirp, fills the air. A squirrel suddenly darts up the side of the Maple tree. Is it going to a nest? Is that a nut its carrying for its partner’s breakfast?  The sounds, the fresh clean air fills me. Suddenly I have another guest. “Charlie” the Chipmunk skirts up onto the deck. It sees me, stops and eyes me for a moment, then darts back to its home under the patio. Smiling, I’m reminded it’s little dish is empty of sun flower seeds.

How can any one say there is no God? How can the magnificence of just this tiny spot of land in a vast world be denied of its Creator by those whose hearts are cold? How can all of this before me be explained away by a boom?

I need to stop reading the words of hatred and denial from those who deny our Savior. The saints of God reach out in love and yet are rebuked in reply. The hatred fills the page and the vileness is screamed across the internet. They hurt my heart! They leave me crying, “Lord come. Take me from this world of hatred and denial. Take me home so that I may bask in Your glorious love. This world has turned cold and cruel. Your will Lord, not mine be done.”

The words of praise and worship softly fill my thoughts from the C. D. I have playing in the background. Honing in on the words, “You lift me up” removes those feelings of longing to leave the hatred and screams of foolishness behind.  The words of praise to our Mighty God replace the longing to scream out to those filled with hatred and anger, “How do you explain the beauty!? How do you explain the glory of what I am seeing and hearing this morning!?” Oh Lord I have no impact when my words of faith fall on deaf ears. The hatred and violence and denial of You is growing. How do I combat it?

The praise songs on the C.D. end and lifting my coffee cup the whistles of the birds, the whirl of the hummingbirds wings slowly fade as I walk back inside. I can only marvel at the beauty of creation and wonder once again, “How can anyone believe there is no God!”

UnGodly Soul Ties are Destructive

nc

search

What is the soul? The soul is our mind, will, and emotions. The Devil’s play ground.

What is a soul tie? A soul tie is an emotional bond or connection that unites us with someone else. We can become bound to a person through our soul. This can be done through generational sins that have been passed down through the generations, through vows we have made, and when we are close to someone or something. It can be a best friend, a pastor, our spouse, our children, a grandparent, relative, a celebrity, an abuser, and especially with every person we’ve had sex with. Even inanimate objects such as cars, jewelry, a house, money, etc.

Ungodly Soul ties can be formed with anyone or anything on a daily basis if we are not vigilant.

God creates Godly soul ties. Duet. 10:20 states, “You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him, and to Him you shall hold fast, and take oaths in His name.” The Lord tells us to love each other and to help each other. By loving someone, as Christ loves us, we are forming Godly soul ties.

Demons cause ungodly soul ties. “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10  Ungodly soul ties can destroy us! They take hold in our mind, will, and emotions, and will destroy what Christ created; love, joy, and peace.

If we are consumed with bitterness and anger, we dwell on the past, feel rejected most of the time, and if we’re constantly meditating on any other person/s or thing/s, we’re probably tied to those people or things. Ungodly soul ties have been formed and need to be broken and severed.

Here are a few keys to knowing if Ungodly soul ties have been formed:

We have been, or are in:

* A controlling relationship.

* An abusive relationship. (Physical, sexual, emotionally, or verbally.)

* Adulterous affairs

* Sex before marriage

* Obsessive entanglements (obsessed with someone or something)

* The occult

It is important to repent, renounce, break, and severe all ungodly soul ties! Even with our spouse! “and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh.” Mark 10:8 Remember, ungodly soul ties are formed through sex. Within the marriage bed and outside the marriage bed. Both husband and wife need to renounce the ungodly soul ties they each harbor.

We are NOT renouncing and severing  GODLY soul ties. We are severing the ungodly soul ties. This brings us freedom to be more like who Christ wants us to be. If we renounce something that the Lord knows is not an ungodly soul tie, don’t worry. No harm has been done. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Ask the Lord to reveal to you the ungodly soul ties that have been formed. Write them down being very specific and renounce each one. Don’t be surprised if there are many. Then thank Him for the Godly soul ties.

Here is a sample prayer of renunciation:

Heavenly Father, I confess and repent of the sin of  (name the sin which caused the evil soul tie, such as adultery or fornication), and I ask that You forgive me of this sin.

(Now is a good time to destroy or get rid of any physical gifts or other objects that could hold the soul tie together, such as a gift given in adultery, etc. Anything that could hold the bond together between you and that person. It’s important to let go of those physical things/keepsakes.)

In the name of Jesus, and by the power of His blood, I now renounce, break and sever all ungodly soul ties formed between (name the person) and myself, through the sin of (name the sin which caused the evil soul tie). I thank You Lord for cleansing me of this sin.

I now command any evil spirits which have taken advantage of this ungodly soul tie to leave me now in Jesus name!

(Repeat this prayer if you have more than one evil soul tie to break.)

Are we Christians gutless wonders?

I have been reading a book that has stopped me in my tracks as different issues are being brought out. It has practically caused me headaches in that it has made me think so hard about what we as Christians have allowed to take place in our society.

Even though the book is a novel, parts are backed up with scripture, it has touched on areas that cause me to suck in my breath, stop reading, and meditate on. There are some areas that we as Christians have not only allowed to happen but continue to allow and to grow. It makes me think of the years when I was growing up. How it was so much more simple than what we adults face today and what our children face and will face in the future.

As Christians we are supposed to be Christ followers. Not “religious,” not “pew warmers,” not Easter and Christmas Christians. We are to follow the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ and we are to pass those teachings on to others. Okay, some do. But on a whole do we speak out and stand up for what is right in the eyes of God? I don’t think so!

Before you start screaming at me think about how it was when you were growing up. Particularly if you’re over 50. With our hand over our heart we stood before the American flag and said the Pledge of Allegiance before school classes began. Now, it’s a legal battle to be able to do that in our schools today. Why? Because we did not stand up to those organizations that declared it was wrong!

Think about prayer. Back then we could pray wherever we wanted, whenever we wanted, and as loud as we wanted, and many times others would join in on our prayers. Laws are being passed by the dozens now that we cannot pray in school, Christian groups are being banned from being a school activity, if a prayer group is organized in a nursing home by the elderly the A.C.L.U. is there threatening lawsuits. A child is not allowed to talk or write about their belief in Jesus Christ and many Christmas programs are being cancelled because of the name of Jesus. The old “church versus state” garbage! Read the constitution! We’re being deceived and we’re keeping quiet about it!

Schools have replaced “Merry Christmas” with “Happy Holidays” on their marquis signs. Instead of “Christmas break” its now called “Winter Break.” Nativity scenes aren’t allowed on various properties and stores have become “politically correct” by refraining from displaying “Merry Christmas” or playing Christmas music through their P.A. systems. They say they, “don’t want to offend anyone.” Well folks, they are offending 86% * of Americans!  Why are they getting away with it? Because we Christians have sat back, shut our mouths, and let them!

Pastors are now being threatened and as a result some are toning back on their sermons. They’re afraid of being sued or the government coming after them. I won’t say they are compromising the truth, they are just scared to tell it all. It’s easier to tell people what they want to hear than rattle their cages with a bit of confrontation about their sins.

What about the news media? We have allowed the radio stations, T.V. stations, and newspapers (what’s left of them) to spout the rhetoric of government bull to change what we always thought was right to what is now absolutely and totally wrong in God’s eyes. Christian programs have been cancelled, sex scenes, dope smoking and same-sex kissing, vulgarity has replaced the wholesome movies we used to be able to view. Why? Because we changed the channel instead of screaming bloody murder. Now we complain that there’s nothing decent on T.V. anymore.

We Christians have sat back and allowed, not only our government, but the media, Hollywood, to tell us, and convince many, that homosexual “marriage” and homosexual behavior is okay. Not only that but we’re called “homophobic” if we disagree! We’re attacked and called  “insensitive”  so we’ve stepped back and allowed what God calls “an abomination” (Lev. 18:22, Lev. 20:13, Duet. 22;5)  “A perversion,” (Ro.1:26-27, Lev. 18:22) and “detestable” (Lev.20:13-16) to become acceptable and legal in several states.

Businesses are being sued because their Christian owners will not forsake their Christian beliefs. They refuse to compromise the Word of God. Good for them! At least some of us has a back bone!

We have allowed 3.3 % *of the American population, the homosexual population, to dictate what is wrong in God’s eyes to what is being pushed as acceptable and “normal” across this land. Yet 86%*of the American population profess to be Christians.  A mere 14% of Americans, non-believers, are dictating what we Christians should be standing up and speaking out and pressing in against! Why aren’t we?

What about abortion? We sat silent when Roe versus Wade was passed into law and now we’re still silent while we sit on our couches and thousands upon thousands of babies are murdered and we continue to groan quietly. One woman started that ball rolling! Think what would have happened if the conglomerate of the church had stood together against it.

We’ve elected a president that advocates those things the Lord our God abhors! Don’t tell me it was all non-believers who voted in this man! Christians lined the polls anxious for “change.” Well we got it brothers and sisters. And its our own fault! Now we’re paying for selective abortions, premeditated murder, whether we want to or not! Now pastors are being sued if they refuse to “marry” a same sex couple or quote scripture about homosexuality.

I could go on for another book-length list of what we Christians have allowed because we have become complacent. We can blame the Democrats. We can blame the Republicans. We can blame the presidents and Congress, Senate, etc. But the blame lays solely and squarely in our own laps!

We have sat back with our holier than thou attitudes and professed to be Christ followers as we moan and groan about what’s happening in our world instead of standing up, shouting to the world that we are not going to follow the dictates of a self-serving, power-hungry government or the likes of those who advocate what is against God’s Word.

God is not happy with His church! How do I know that? REPENT, REPENT, REPENT. That is what Christ has been calling us to do for generations and now so much more than probably ever before.

I am not advocating that all the problems in America are due to complacent Christians but there are many areas that we as the church can stand against and have a huge influence on. 86% of Americans have a voice so we need to stop groaning and trying to be “politically correct,” and stand up for what the Lord’s teachings are.

How can we do that? We can elect officials that are Bible believing people and seek God’s wisdom. We can confront the manager of the store that refuses to display “Merry Christmas” or insists their employees greet with “Happy Holiday.” Mom’s and grandma’s and teacher’s can confront the schools principles or board of education about the constitutional rights of our students. If our rights as a Christian is being denied we have Christian organizations that will help us defend those rights.  And above all, pray, pray, pray.

We are called to be light unto the world and if we sit back and say or do nothing out of fear of reprisal from those who are atheists, “gay rights,” “pro-choice” groups, the movie industry, or biased media we are just as much to blame for the downfall of our country as they are. In fact we are even more to blame because “Greater is He who is in you than He that is in the world.”

Holding onto the Shield of Faith

images[3]

In Ephesians 6 God tells us to put on the Full Armor of God. He has given us the tools to fight the enemy of God.  One of those tools is the Shield of Faith.

“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” Eph. 6:16

The Lord, through His prophets, have been warning us that we are facing terrible times ahead. We shake our head in wonder now at the things that are taking place in our society and the world and wonder what is going to happen. Do we focus on the senseless slaughtering from ISIS, the attempt to destroy the sanctity of marriage through the homosexual agenda, the slaughtering of millions of unborn children, attacks against Israel, or Ebola? Although these are important do they strike a note of fear in us? Do they consume our thoughts?

Our focus is to be on God! He is calling us to repentance. He is wanting to hear our heartfelt prayers and our praise and worship. We are not to focus on the world or the events that are happening in the world. We are to look beyond and above the world to eternity. Our eyes are to be on Him not the events of the world that can leave us shaking in fear.

We are to cling to God through His Son Jesus Christ through our faith in Him. We pray without ceasing and in addition to the other pieces of armor we take hold of that piece, the shield of faith, and hold fast!

Gary D. Kinnaman, in his book, “Winning your Spiritual Battles” discusses the various pieces of God’s full armor and gives an account of what each Biblically means and how we can be protected. Mr. Kinnaman states that in the New Testament there are four different shades of meaning of faith.

        1. Saving Faith – We trust that Christ saves us from sin and the consequences thereof. Ro. 10:9, Ro. 4:3

        2. Faith to Receive – Faith in our daily trust in God for His provision and help.Heb. 11:6

        3. Power faith, gift faith, miracle working faith. – Faith in a general sense – faith to be saved and faith to walk with God. 1Cor.12:9, Gal. 5:22-23, 1Cor. 12:7-11,  1Cor.12-14, Heb. 11:6

        4. Enduring faith – Faith that does not quit. It is the persistent, resilient belief that God’s Word is true, over and against every problem, wrong thought, or demon. Endurance is active faith, deflecting persistently the fiery attacks of Satan.

So how do we endure? One day at a time! In 1Peter 1:3-9, “Through faith {you} are shielded by God’s power.” (verse 5) “The shield of faith is God’s power and presence protecting and energizing us in spiritual warfare.”

“Faith in the sense of perseverance shields all the other armor. Truth must persevere to prevail. Righteousness must persevere to prevail. We must persevere in peace-making in order to prevail.”

In these troubling times God is calling us to persevere. We must have enduring faith if we are going to “run the race” and receive the prize. Grab your shield of faith and hang on tight, it’s only going to get worse.

“Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Rev. 2:10

A prayer for Holding up the Shield of Faith:

“Heavenly Father and mighty God, shield me with Your power as I trust in You. The flaming arrows of the enemy have burned my soul. Heal the pain inside, and give me the strength to resist.

I am committed to enduring to the end of this trial, regardless of how long it lasts. I am not a victim. I am a victor, more than a conqueror through Christ.

My faith, Lord, is in You. I renounce my own abilities, and I confess that unless Jesus builds up my life, everything I do is in vain. Only when I trust You completely am I completely protected from the fiery darts of the wicked one. I hide myself in the fire of Your presence. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

The Road to Life

imagesCARCMBP2

At first I saw God as my observer, my judge, keeping track of the things I did wrong so as to know whether I merited heaven or hell when I die. He was out there sort of like a president. I recognized His picture when I saw it, but really didn’t know Him. But later on when I met Christ, it seemed as though life were rather like a bike ride, but it was a tandem bike, and I noticed that Christ was in the back helping me to petal. I don’t know just when it was that He suggested we change places, but life has not been the same since.

When I had control, I knew the way. It was rather boring, but predictable, it was the shortest distance between two points. But when He took the lead He knew delightful long cuts, up mountains, through rocky places at breakneck speeds. It was all I could do to hang on!

Even though it looked like madness, He said, “Petal!” I worried and was anxious and asked, “Where are You taking me?” He laughed and didn’t answer, and I started to learn to trust. I forgot my boring life and entered into an adventure, and when I say, “I’m scared,” He’d lean back and touch my hand. I gained love, peace, acceptance, and joy; gifts to take on my journey, my Lord’s and mine. And we were off again.

He said, “Give the gifts away. They’re extra baggage, too much weight.” So I did, to the people we met, and I found that in giving I received, and still our burden was light.

I did not trust Him, at first, in control of my life. I thought He’d wreck it. But He knows bike secrets, knows how to bend to take the sharp corners, knows how to jump to clear high rocks, knows how to fly to shorten scary passages. And I am learning to shut up and petal in the strangest places, and I’m beginning to enjoy the view and the cool breeze in my face with my delightful constant companion, Jesus Christ.

And when I’m sure I just can’t do it anymore, He just smiles and says…”Petal!”

Taking care of legalities – True story

imagesCAORV9NT

No jury sits in this court room. No spectators fill the room. You won’t hear whispers echoing across the isle. The silence is almost deafening.

Only four people will be in this trial. At one table, facing the Judge is the Defense Attorney and the accused. To their left stands another table with the prosecutor facing the judge. He has a stack of papers lain neatly in front of him. The Defense attorney’s table is bare.

The Judge sits high above the rest of the room. His eyes focus on the defendant. My hands are locked together in front of me and my knees knock together slightly. My Attorney leans over and gently bumps my shoulder with His. He gives me a wink and then focuses back on the Judge.

The accuser stands straight, cocky like. His eyes are fire and his hand rests on the stack of papers. He glances over at me and shivers shoot up my spine. With an evil smirk he has an expression of confidence.

A voice booms across the room, coming from the Judges bench. “State your case Satan!” God’s voice is so powerful my knees almost give out from under me. Jesus gently takes me by the elbow to steady me.

Satan picks up the stack of papers and begins reading the accusations. “This is a contract her grandfather signed! Before she was born she was mine!” He slaps it on the table and raises another. “This is the promise her father made before she was even out of the womb!” He slams it down and rattles yet another. I nervously glance at my Attorney. Satan doesn’t stop. One paper after another he waves in the air and shouts what his claim to me  is that’s stated on each of the contracts.

This is more than I can bear. I had no idea that people make contracts with the devil and literally give him and his demons legal rights to control that person. I need to sit down! My Attorney listens quietly, He’s as cool as a cucumber. He leans toward me and whispers, “Trust Me.” Trust Him? Oh I do, but I also want to climb right up under those long white robes and hide. Satan is screaming and demanding that I am his. “Here’s the contracts to prove it”, he hollers as drool and slobber splatter out of his mouth.

The Judge looks intensely at me. My mouth goes dry. Satan begins to yell, “She’s mine!” Jesus leans a bit in front of me and points his long index finger at Satan, “Enough!” I want to hug Him, I want to cheer. I want to dance over to Satan and slap him! The Judge, looks at me and compassionately says, “What do you have to say about all this My child?”

I must have swallowed 10 times in order to get the words to come up out of my throat. Finally a squeak comes out and I clear my throat and speak. “Father God, Your Majesty, on Oct.3, 1993 I gave my life to Jesus. I believe He shed His blood for my sins, I believe He died and arose and is Your Son. I asked Him to be my Savior and to come into my heart and my life. I have tried to be as obedient as I can be. You said that if we confess our sins and believe in our heart that Jesus is Your Son then we are saved. I believe that Father, I mean God, I mean your Honor. I swallow hard and take a deep breath then continue. I didn’t just ask Him to be my Savior I gave Him my whole life to do with as He pleases. I gave Him me! I know I still sin and I’m sorry but I – I sense Jesus looking at me and when I look up His radiant smile and the compassion and love shining in His eyes leave the rest of my words stuck in my throat. I shut my mouth.

Looking at Jesus, hoping I haven’t screwed up my case by babbling, tears stream down my face. Jesus reaches over and with His thumb gently wipes the tears off my cheeks. Satan has started dancing from one foot then the other. Then he begins waving the stacks of papers and begins sputtering unintelligible words.  He begins accusing Jesus. The Judge holds out His massive hand and says, “Give those papers to me!” He commands. Apparently Satan thinks he’s won. He fairly scoot’s across the floor happily to the Judges bench and hands them to Him. Father God holds the stack of contracts out in front of Him and without looking at them, begins ripping them in half then ripping them again and again. Satan is screaming. He’s going ballistic.

Father God commands him to back off and shut up. Satan does. The Almighty Judge looks at His Son, “My Son, do you have anything to say?” Jesus looks at me, smiles, places an arm around my shoulder, and replies, “My child is not guilty by reason of I love her more than she’ll ever know. My blood was poured out for her. My blood washed her sins away. She is in Me and I am in her. There is no question she has been redeemed.” Jesus gives my shoulder a soft squeeze.

God leans forward. His eyes are intense. He first looks at Jesus, then at Satan, and finally at me. He picks up the large gavel and suddenly slams it down. “Not Guilty!” booms across the room rattling the windows. Satan goes into a fit of rage but as soon as Jesus turns toward him and points that index finger at him Satan stops hollering and slinks out the door.

~~~~~
There really is a spiritual heavenly court. I have been in it three different times with Jesus defending me against the legal rights my grandfather gave to Satan before I was conceived. Almighty God is the Judge. Jesus Christ is my Defender and Satan is the accuser. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior Father God will find you NOT GUILTY every time Satan accuses you.
~~~~~

“One day the members of the heavenly court

came to present themselves before the Lord,

and the Accuser, Satan, came with them.”

Do we dare get mad at God?

imagesCAEFIDNM

Sitting at the head of the long table with women gathered around, I hear anger being voiced. I hear cries that are fearful of shaking their fist at the God who created them. “But we can’t get angry at God!” one woman exclaims.  “Why not?” I softly ask.

God created us with all sorts of emotions and anger is one of those emotions. We get angry about a lot of things and we express it in many different ways. There is righteous anger and there is unrighteous anger.  In Dr. Harold Bloomfield and Robert Kory book, “Inner Joy” they list four types of non-constructive anger. I call it “self righteous” anger.

Some of us “stuff it” inside and do a slow sizzle. It’s called passive anger. We may try to make others feel guilty in the process. Hubby wants to go play golf. The wife wanted to do something together.  “Ohhh, you go ahead, I’ll just sit here all alone.”  The person doesn’t admit to even being angry like they are some saint and nothing bothers them yet they sit and burn a slow burn on the inside.

Some of us scream, yell, call names, stomp, hit the wall or others, throw things. That’s aggressive anger. This is the type of anger that can land people in prison. It is the anger that causes emotional damage that can take years to overcome. It is the type of anger that sends wives and children crying and bruised to their bedrooms to hide.

Hinting, placating, and avoiding responsibility is a type of anger where we express our anger indirectly. Instead of going to the person we are angry at we go behind their back to someone else. This type of anger is common in divorces.  Sadly, the children are usually the one that suffer because they’ve been used as the pawns for this type of anger. Or we go to a friend and drag him/her into the fight.

Overspending, lateness, “accidently” burning the dinner, are a few examples of the passive-aggressive anger. This person appears to be passive but in fact is aggressive. The anger is expressed in hidden ways and almost always causes hurt and humiliation. It’s a “I’ll show you” type of anger.

Righteous anger is when we get angry about a wrong being done. We see a child being beaten and step in, we hear gossip being spread about someone and know it’s wrong and a pack of lies.

But what about if we get angry at God? Can we get angry at God? Of course we can! There are several examples in the Bible where followers of Christ got angry. “Why do you treat your servant so badly?…Why are you so displeased with me that you burden me with all these people? Was it I who conceived all this people?…” (Numbers 11:11-12) Moses cried out to God.

Martha wasn’t a happy camper when Jesus waited four days to show up when Lazarus died and she let Him know. “If you had been here, my brother would never have died.” (John 11:21)

Even Jesus got angry! “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?” (Matt.23:33)

Yes, we can and do get angry with God. Whether we admit it or not. He’s a big enough God to handle our anger. I have stated many times to the Lord, “I am really mad at you right now so I better shut up before I say something I will regret.” If we have a relationship with Christ we can be open and honest. He knows even before we do that we are angry. He understands it, accepts, and will help us through it if we turn that anger to prayer.

Instead of letting our anger simmer and turn to depression, anxiety, or even become a bitter root we can turn it over to God. If we lay it before Him in honesty it rids us of deep inner turmoil. When we voice our pain to Him He is faithful to take it upon His shoulders with love and compassion. He can use your anger, rage, outrage to build your faith and move you in directions you never dreamed possible.
